Geographically located on a shelf of Tennessee’s Cumberland Plateau, Campbell County is home to wondrous scenic beauty, courtesy of the Cumberland Mountains, Powell Valley, Powell River, Clinch River and Norris Lake. The rivers and lakes combined with the valleys, foothills and ridges of the Cumberland Mountains are a retreat for lovers and nature lovers, featuring numerous marinas, boating and camping facilities, with seasonal swimming pools, plus exceptional fresh water fishing.
 The Cumberland Trail, a unique state park that will, when complete, wind along the mountain ranges from Cumberland Gap to Chattanooga takes hearty hikers right over the top of the county. Within easy range can be found opportunities for water skiing, tubing, scuba diving, rafting, rappelling, hang gliding and spelunking.  
 Nearby state and national parks, public accesses provided by the Tennessee Valley Authority, and several wildlife management areas that support wild bird-observation, elk viewing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, ATV trails, and family walking trails.
