Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center

Slated to open in February 2006, the Heritage Center is being developed to preserve, protect and promote the unique history and rich culture of the people who once lived in what is now the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and its surrounding area. Permanent exhibits will include a Native American gallery and a pioneer gallery, with additional space for temporary exhibits and genealogy research.In addition, indoor and outdoor stages will host life performances and classrooms will accommodate educational experiences.
